All material submitted to be published on any page within Post #261 must be submitted in the correct formats and fonts otherwise they will not be published. The webmaster will not reformat material! All material can be submitted either by email or CD in these formats. The formats shown below and their uses are the only type that will be accepted and used:

  1. MS Word or other equivalent: For publishing and viewing material online in a page.  (PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Publisher are not acceptable)

  2. PDF(Adobe Acrobat): For availability to download and save the selection to disc.

  3. .jpg, .gif, .png: For all pictures. .jpg is the best format for viewing online. .gif and .png have the ability to show a picture within a transparent background.

  4. Fonts: Fonts to be used for online viewing must be a default font such as Arial, Times New Roman, Tahoma, Verdana etc.. (No fonts such as comic fonts may be used! This does not apply to fliers that are to be made into a jpg picture). All fonts must have a size of 10pt or better.

Website Address Change

The Post website has been completely overhauled  to make for an easier site for all to navigate and and for us to maintain. It also makes a few more things possible to employ. There is not much that isn't here that was except for the Donations Module and the Game Module in the Auxiliary section.

The Donations Module will be replaced by a donation page or a link on a page that will send you to PayPal. That cannot be done till the financials have been set-up by The Post with PayPal. There will also be a store within the site which may have the donations in it as well. Again, the financials have to be set-up for this purpose as well. The Post may want to sell emblems, T-Shirts and such as well as anything else they may care to.

One thing that has changed considerably is the actual address of the pages. The reason for that change is that this is not the same format of site as the other was. While the previous site was done in PHP, the site now is in HTML. So for those that bookmarked the site before, you will have to change the bookmark  from index.php to index.html. If you only had it down as http://www.alpost261.org then you are fine to go without the need to change anything.  If you did not bookmark it to begin with then click on this link & it will do it for you.... Bookmark this site!  For now, the site is being re-directed to the right address by software. This will change very soon as the Google-Bots and other site engines won't index the site correctly and may penalize the site rankings and where or if it will show up in a search.

Suggestions and Comments
There is now a page for adding your comments or suggestions directly to the site for all to see. http://www.alpost261.org/comments.html  It will have to be approved by the administration of this site before it will be published. This is to be sure that all in the posting is legitimate and not hurtful or malicious in any form to The American Legion, The Post, Web Site  or any Person. You may use safe HTML in the posting.  HTML support allows content formatting using <b> and <i> tags for bold and italics, as well as certain other tags. There is also a word filter attached to the comments box that will not allow certain words to be posted. As we move along, we will find words that we will add to this filter. It is not the easiest thing to dream up what can be offensive until it happens.
